Onthebox meets the Skins cast
One more interview with the Skins cast. Here we have the questions of OntheBox and we have Will and Alex to answer.
Read bellow:
...
Read bellow:
Speaking of innuendo, there’s plenty of it with Will ‘I want to get my nipple pierced’ Merrick (hence showing us his nipple, to see if it ‘has enough skin’ or some strange logic like that) and Alexander ‘analogy King’ Arnold. The pair are touted as the new comedy duo of the show and have a natural banter together off screen too…Sources
Was there any romance on set?
Alex: No there wasn’t actually. (To Will) I mean, with me and you there wasn’t – luckily.
Will: We’ve woken up in bed together a few times wearing a sailor’s hat…
Alex (through mock gritted teeth): “Don’t say that”
What sort of things did they get you to do in the audition?
Alex (mock serious): Literally – naked… No, they didn’t. Just like, a bit of script. The opening audition was an improv. (Turns to Will) Apparently your one was really funny?
Will: What was?
Alex: Your improv. What I’ve just been talking about …
Will: I wasn’t listening.
Alex: Great.
Who got the raw deal when it came to embarrassing scenes?
Alex (to Will): It was you but it was like, cut quite fine… Well it wasn’t necessarily (with) a kitchen knife, it was probably a machete.
I see in the character synopsis that Alo’s favourite hobbies are listed as ‘weed and wanking?’ Now there’s something to tell your mum…
Will (insisting): He’s much deeper than that.
Alex: Shallow Alo!
Will: He’s just a teenage boy, he likes weed and wanking – who doesn’t?
How would you describe the relationship between Rich and Alo?
Alex: Like a puppy and its owner… I’m definitely the owner.
Will (agreeing): Yeah.
Alex: The thing is with a puppy and an owner, it can sort of switch round, the dog can bite its owner can’t it? I think that’s a good analogy isn’t it? That’s a great analogy. I’m great. Let’s just go with ‘I’m great’.
Two of the most successful people to have come out of Skins are Dev Patel and Nicholas Hoult. If you had to choose anyone from the cast who is destined for Hollywood, who would it be?
Both in unison: Freya Mavor!
Will: Freya is gonna do massive things; she’s so good. She’s so professional and determined.
Alex: She speaks French as well.
Will: She’s really fit as well.
So there you have it. The Skins cast, live in the flesh and coming to an E4 screen near you (Thursday 27th Jan, 10pm to be precise).
All that’s left to find out, is what will they be buying with their first pay cheques? Ever serious in their responses, Alex answers, “probably a packet of wine gums” while Will opts for, “a drum stick”.
That’s teenagers for you – easily pleased.

Here is the episode description of Rich´s episode.
...
"Rich uses his taste in extreme music to keep the world, especially girls, at bay. But when Alo finds Rich's perfect woman, he is forced into pairing up with Grace to learn how to chat up girls. Grace has to learn the ways of metal in order to impersonate a metal chick, but Rich doesn't make it easy, refusing to believe a mainstream girl could understand him. Alex about the Napalm Death Cameo
Speaking exclusively to Terrorizer ahead of the Brummie grind legends' impending appearance on the E4 teen drama, 'Skins' star Alexander Arnold discusses working with frontman Mark 'Barney' Greenway, loving Mastodon and why his character won't be another lazy metal stereotype.
What did you make of working with Napalm Death?
Napalm Death are great! I spoke to Barney on several occasions and we did a scene together, and he was a really genuine guy. I bought [2006 album] 'Smear Campaign' halfway through filming, and what I loved were the lyrics. I really researched them and I could see how genuine Barney is – he's an atheist, he's a vegan and he's a part of an animal rights group, and it's really interesting. Before that, the sort of stuff I liked was probably more post-rock, and there are bands like Mastodon who I really love. I love their 'Leviathon' album.
How did you first hear about Napalm appearing on the show?
I had no idea about it. I don't know how hard it would have been to get Napalm involved, but all I knew was bits and bobs from scripts in the audition process.
What was it like filming your scene with Barney?
He was really natural actually, he seemed fine – although he was playing himself! He was great though, and he seemed quite on the level.
Do you feel like you've come to understand the metal scene a bit more?
Yeah definitely. I really hope that my character Rich doesn't just come across as some bloke who throws on a Metallica t-shirt, because when I started researching the role I realised that Jamie [Brittain, co-creator of 'Skins'] is a massive metal fan, and he got me to watch the Anvil documentary, from which I got into the Big Four thrash bands. 'Anvil' is a great documentary; it shows how passionate a band of brothers those guys are. I watched a great documentary on Norwegian black metal as well.
How did all this help to influence your character?
Rich is a character who will have spent time discovering all these bands, and so I felt that I had to do that as well.
How did Napalm's live scene work?
Well, they pre-recorded the song itself because we needed lots of different takes, but each time it looked completely different, which was great because you could see that Barney is really involved in what he's doing. It was a big scene that we filmed in an actual metal gig venue, and we had about 90 extras there just standing about and dancing and stuff, and they really loved it as well.
What other bands would you like to work with or see live?
I'd love to see Slayer live, because they're one of the top thrash metal bands, so that'd be really interesting, and I'm a big fan of Mastodon, so it'd be great to meet [frontman] Troy Sanders.
Check out Napalm's cameo on the February 3 episode of 'Skins' on E4.

Skins 5 cast in FHM-SPOILERS
Here is a pic with Skins 5 cast on FHM.Read bellow an article of dailymail.co.uk.SPOILERS ALERT
A metalhead, a rugby captain and an Audrey Hepburn wannabe... it can only be the all-new cast of Skins
Every two years the cast of Skins changes to mark the students leaving sixth form.
And the new cast of the Channel 4 show has now been revealed, with a metalhead a rugby captain and an Audrey Hepburn wannabe in the mix.
The eight new characters have been unveiled ahead of the fifth series' premiere on 27th January, and pose wearing a selection of preppy clothes for the new issue of FHM magazine.
But Sebastian D Souza, who will play Matty, admits he was concerned about telling his parents he had won a part in the show because of the programme's raunchy nature.
He said: 'I only told my mum I'd been cast, so she didn't think I'd become a druggie in Bristol or something.
'Matty is ambiguous within the group, which is why he doesn't have a surname. He affects each of the characters without meaning to.'
Layla Lewis, who stars as Liv Malone, added: 'I'm from Bristol and for the first series the casting director came to my school, but I chickened out of the auditions.
'I'm pleased I eventually went for it. I based Liv on me at 16, because back then. I wanted to be cool, too.'
The eight starring roles are all very different, and the actors explained their characters' different characteristics.
Dakota Blue Richards, who plays Frankie Fitzgerald, said: 'Frankie starts as an outsider and has lots of conflicts with Mini.
'She's grown up in the care system and never had a family. She now lives with two adoptive gay dads. There's also a sex scene that hints as Frankie's dark past.'
Alex Arnold, who plays Rich Hardbeck, has the task of taking on the show's metalhead, explaining: 'Rich is - as his name describes - really middle class.
'He's tried to escape by wrapping himself in the lyrics of slayer. He's a metalhead, so I wear a long wig in the show.'
Jessica Sula, who stars as Grace Violet, is the show's resident female heartthrob, and said: 'Grace by name, grace by nature.
'She's really fun to play. Her character is inspired by iconic people, like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.'
Sean Teale, who plays Nick Levan, also described his character, explaining: 'Nick's the rugby captain. Mini is his girlfriend. On my first day I was stood in tight purple boxers getting puked on. And I smashed up houses on my last day.'
The fifth series also features a cameo appearance from a very famous model-turned-actress.
Freya Mavor, who plays Mini McGuinness, said: 'Mini is very determined and a bit of a b***h. Kelly Brook plays my fitness instructor. It makes sense, since she's so hot. It was funny working with her; the crew had their jaws by their knees.'
The full feature appears in this month's FHM Magazine, on sale now.

First interview with the cast of Skins 5
The Sun published one interview with the cast of Skins 5 and a new pic of them.

Read the interview bellow... it could have some small spoilers.
"The E4 teen drama has gained a reputation for its graphic take on sex and drugs during its previous four series.

Channel 4
It returns on January 27 with its third cast - who say they have loved stripping off for their sexy scenes.
But not everyone is getting on in the act, with Will, 17 - who plays pothead Alo Creevey - saying he is annoyed that his character keeps his clothes on.

He said: "I was really excited when I first got my script - I was flicking through it looking for my first sex scene and I don't have one.
"I was gutted. I was really looking forward to getting my kit off. I wanted to get naked. It is not Skins if you don't get naked. It is a real shame."
But there was no such drought for Sean Teale, 18, who plays stud Nick Levan. He has several raunchy scenes with screen girlfriend Mini McGuinness, played by Freya Mavor, 17.
He said: "She is absolutely beautiful and I really got along with her.
"It was character-building doing the sex scenes. We talked about it beforehand, but we never rehearsed it in our own time. It just kind of flowed."
He added: "In my first week I found myself doing a lot of nude stuff. I was thrown in at the deep end on my first day - I was naked and I got puked on. It made my opening experience quite rough."
Sean added: "My parents would have loved me to have been in a period drama instead.
"My dad was flipping through the channels once when the last series was on and when he saw Skins he was absolutely gutted, so they are bracing themselves for what is to come.
"They are going to close their eyes and not watch some of the stuff."
But single Sean said he was looking forward to the attention from girls that the series will bring.
Jessica Sula ... apprehensive about role on sexy show

He said: "I want to be professional, but I do want to enjoy the attention as well.
"But you have to be careful - a lot of these people won't have wanted to know me before I was in Skins."
Bosses have said there will be more of a focus on the girls in this series, after the boys took centre stage last time. Jessica Sula, 16, who plays prim Grace Violet, said she was apprehensive about taking the role at first because of the show's sexy reputation. She said: "When the show first came out it was a big shock. I was only 11, so I was a bit young. When I told my mum I was going to audition for it, she said, 'Is it that show?'
"But my mum understands this is what I want to do. She understands it is only on TV."
Producers have promised the new series will be more fun after the last run was criticised for being too dark, particularly when one character got battered to death.
Series producer Matt Strevens said: "Things were heavier in the last series because the characters were older and had bigger things to deal with.
"But with the new cast, they are younger and we can have some fun with them. We want to bring more of its silliness back in."
Alexander Arnold, 18, who plays heavy metal fan Rich Hardbeck, added: "It is still dark in places. It isn't a political show - it is just a representation of youth culture.
"We lay out scenes that viewers can relate to."

Most of the new actors are unknowns, with several being chosen after taking part in open auditions which attracted more than 10,000 wannabes.
But one cast member is more familiar - Dakota Blue Richards, 16, who plays Franky Fitzgerald. She previously starred in Hollywood movie The Golden Compass.

But she said that having fame before had not changed her take on joining the show.
She said: "I don't think it has given me any kind of advantage because this is so different to what I have worked on before. I have never done TV and it all moves so much quicker.
"The others wouldn't ask me for tips. We all have our ups and downs, but generally we all get on. It is quite nice because I have never worked with people my own age before." Dakota's androgynous character also misses out on raunchy scenes - only because she doesn't know what she likes yet.
She said: "My character doesn't have sex with men or women yet. She is very innocent. She is so reserved and buttoned up - I would love to have some nude scenes.
"I am very jealous that most of the others get raunchy scenes. This series has the potential to be the best yet as it is so different."
But Dakota conceded the new cast will have to put some work in winning over die-hard fans who grew accustomed to the old faces.
She said: "There will be some prejudice about it as it is the third generation." Jessica said she had already suffered internet abuse, despite the series not even starting yet.

She said: "People can be cruel and it is not nice. One mistake I made was going on the internet and people were being mean, comparing us with the old cast.
"But the sad thing is that they don't even know us yet."
Several former Skins stars have gone on to huge international success, such as Nicholas Hoult - who starred in Tom Ford's Hollywood movie A Single Man - and Dev Patel, who appeared in the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire.
Sean - who is deferring a university place to do Skins - said: "It is a fantastic springboard as a show and you can really up your profile from it. Quite a few of us want to carry on in acting after.
"But I am realistic about the industry and my parents made sure I have a back-up plan with uni."

Skins season 5 Meet Alexander Arnold
More fresh stuff about season 5.This time we introduce you to Alexander Arnold.
This is an article from the Kentish Express.
And... who would say this is his character??? what a surprise... spoilers bellow!!!
Alex lands metalhead role in teenage drama
HIGHWORTH Grammar School pupil Alex Arnold is set to play a metalhead in the teenage TV drama Skins.
Speaking exclusively to the Express, the 17-year-old from Kennington revealed his character, one of eight main characters in the show, is a heavy metal fan.
He said: “ My character is a metalhead. He’s pretty mixed up about how he feels. He doesn’t really believe in a compromise in any beliefs he has but there’s a girl he meets and it spins his world around a little bit. It’s a metal take on a love story.”
Although Alex managed to beat off competition from 8,000 other hopefuls to get the part on the popular E4 drama, he nearly opted out of the first audition in Camden in May because he was ill.
He said: “I had a virus that day and I nearly left the queue but my friends who had come with me to audition made me stay. I’ve watched the show and I’m a big fan so I saw it as a good opportunity. I was really surprised to get through all 10 auditions. I’m incredibly lucky to get the part.“Quite a few of my friends knew I was auditioning but I don’t think any of them expected me to get this far. When I told them I’d been picked they were shocked but pleased for me.”Alex has been involved with Ashford Youth Theatre, as well as the National Youth Theatre, and has been in several plays but this is his first role on television. After two months of being on setin Bristol he said his first experience of filming for the small screen has been hard work.
“If we’re working from 7am until 8pm it can be quite tiring,”However, the job has its perks and the teenager has already met former glamour model turned actress Kelly Brook, who is reportedly playing a fitness instructor in the show.He said: “I’ve met Kelly but unfortunately I’m not filming with her. She’s a guest star in one episode. I just met her in the hotel, she’s a very beautiful lady. She was really friendly and smiley. She’s a very lovely person.”
Although previous actors on the series like Nick Hoult and Dev Patel have gone on to become household names, Alex thinks it will be harder for the show’s fans to recognise him in real life. He said: “I actually wear a wig in the series so it’s going to be hard to spot me. I don’t know how it’s going to be received. I really hope the show does well, after all we make it for the fans.”

Open auditions - 5 out of 8
I always thought that all of the actors of Skins were always choosen in the open auditions, but it seems it´s not like that.
"And guess what? 5 out of the 8 lovely new actors came straight out of the open auditions back in April this year. Freya, Jess, Laya, Will and Alex were chosen from over 7000 of you that turned up in London and Bristol to try out for the show.
Executive Producer John Griffin was certainly impressed with all you auditionees:
"More people than ever turned up this year for the open auditions in London and Bristol and the standard of young talent was as high as ever. It was a huge process but incredibly rewarding and we hope that the auditionees had as much fun as we did. We are really excited about the talent that has come through and we now have brilliant cast of actors helping to create the exciting new characters for Skins Series 5."
Cheers John - we're excited too!
Thom"
So, how did they choose the others? they were invited?
Do you know anything about this?

Get to know all the new season 5 crew
So the e4 show us a few minutes ago the new cast of Skins season 5, and now we can know a little bit more of the new characters, you can read a little presentation of each one bellow.
"I'm Sebastian. I'm from a little village called Boxford, just outside of Newbury. It's very far away from anything. Working on Skins the most incredible thing, we have only been filming for a few weeks now but I've never learned so much in my entire life. I can't wait for people to see it."
"I'm Alex, I'm from Ashford, Kent. I think Skins is the opportunity of a lifetime and I couldn't believe I'd got the part, particularly when I haven't really done a lot of acting before so I was really surprised to get through! It's a great feeling to get the part through the open audition process. I auditioned in London, turned up with a few of my friends and was met by masses of other people auditioning. I didn't think there would be much point but I stuck it out and I made it through
"I've been asking for years to get a part on Skins because I've always loved the series and wanted to be in it. Finally this year I'm old enough to play a part! It's crazy to be part of this Skins phenomenon, it's as much a lifestyle choice as anything because of the attention that comes with it. We are eight friends on screen as well off screen so we have the same dynamic that you'll see in the series."
"Hi, I'm Freya and I'm from Edinburgh. I got the part through the open auditions in Bristol. I overheard about them in conversation on a bus and thought this was something I needed to be part of! I went along, queued for hours, made friends - it was crazy but all totally worth it! It's insane to think I'm in Skins, I've always been a fan and I'm so lucky that I'm in something which I've always admired."
"Hello! I'm Laya and I'm from Bristol. It's so exciting to be part of Skins, mainly because I'm from Bristol and it's great to represent the place where it's set. The auditions took place in my school. It was incredible, there were so many people. It was mad! I got the part while I was working. I was so excited but had to carry on. It was a great feeling"

"My name is Jessica Sula, I'm from Swansea, South Wales. It still hasn't sunk in yet! Skins is so different from anything else on TV and I'm just so excited to be part of it. I was revising for my exams, I took a break and saw that there were open auditions taking place for the next series. I headed down the next day to the open auditions in Bristol and the rest is history. I'm incredibly lucky."
"Hi I'm Will. I live in Ledbury, Herefordshire. I got the part through the open auditions in Bristol. I went with a group of friends as we were massive fans of the show so wanted to be part of it. We turned up to see thousands of people so I thought it would be pointless but turns out it was all worth it. I'm so lucky to be part of the Skins family, it's really fun and every day just gets better."
"Hello, I'm Sean and I'm from London. I got the part the day before my birthday so it was the best birthday present I could have ever hoped for! It's really strange to think I'm part of this new series. It hasn't really sunk in that I'm in the cast yet. So far I've had the best time filming. I'm having fun and I'm so lucky to be part of this incredible legacy!"
