Another interview to Dakota . Interview by welovebrighton.

The Skins tour is hitting the pier with Beardyman in Brighton to publicise the show http://www.welovebrighton.com/skins-tour/.

How do your experiences of growing up in Brighton Reflect on Frankie’s experiences in Skins?
I’ve had a different upbringing, more stable and secure living in Brighton with my mum. Frankie’s upbringing is really unknown to me; we know she has had a dark past and had a hard time which adds to her enigmatic character. She has two adoptive dads, and her past shows through as she develops through the series.
Would you be friends with Frankie?
She would be the most interesting friend to have out of all Skins characters, I’d definitely get on with her. She tries to be outside clichés and doesn’t want to be popular or noticed. She is unusual and uncatgorisable.
Do you think Skins is believable to a young audience watching and people who are experiencing the same things?
I’ve always been a big fan of Skins and it’s important that people can relate to the experiences shown in the programme so they can say ‘Yes that happened to me’. In the drama things will be more hardcore than reality but they are also relatable and fun. This is a positive series and more fun as a result compared to the last one. The characters start as individuals and due to their common experiences become friends as a group.
How does Bristol, where Skins is set, compare to Brighton?
They are both similar with lots of young people in a creative and fashionable place. But Bristol is more of a city in terms of size and feeling,  I’m bias towards Brighton as it’s my home with memories…I really enjoyed Bristol though.
What do you Love about Brighton?
Brighton is a very open place. You can be who you want to be and it’s a real mix of people. I love diversity and you really get that here. Also how close you are to the Sea and the Downs. It’s a city but you can be more of an outdoorsy person which I defiantly am.
As your career progresses will you stay here or move to a bigger city such as London, NYC or LA?
Its daunting thinking of leaving Brighton! I’ve lived in the same place since I was three. Its less struggle here living in a smaller friendlier place, I think London is too busy. Its fun, but big cities are so impersonal which makes people harder to relate to, like,  in London you leave the bus from the back as opposed to Brighton where you leave at the front and everyone thanks the driver. The little personal things… It promotes people to get on.
Who else out of your friends in Brighton should we be looking out for?
Wow, well look out for the Half Sisters http://www.thehalfsisters.com/ they are an amazing folk group that I love! The rest of my friends are, for want of a better word ‘normal’ which is important when you are surrounded by a world of film, TV and acting.
Where do you go out, socialise and enjoy yourself in Brighton?
I’m not old enough for pubs and clubs but I really love shopping in Brighton as there’re so many cool shops and they’re so close to where I live. I really love Coffee 33 on Trafalgar street, it’s just nice going there and hanging out with my mates.
Skins and music are inextricably linked with the tour and throughout the show,  do you like the music on the show?
We don’t get to see much as we are kept away from the final edits to keep us as natural as possible with our acting. However, I love Crystal Castles http://crystalcastles.com/ who Frankie also loves and I also adore James Blake who’s tune ‘Limit to your Love’http://jamesblakemusic.com/ is on the show. I’m really looking forward to the tour and I’m going to the Brighton show with all my mates!
Interview By Robert Gray

Here is an interview by Demon FM to Sean Teale... He talks about his role in Skins, how excited he his about the series and about his relationship with Mini.

Listen to the full thing by clicking here.

Sean Teale speak to Hangover hosts Rob Wills & Nicola Fletcher to discuss skins, love and life.

Mr.E.Productions was there to record the start of a radio legacy.

One more interview with the Skins cast. Here we have the questions of OntheBox and we have Will and Alex to answer.

Read bellow:

Speaking of innuendo, there’s plenty of it with Will ‘I want to get my nipple pierced’ Merrick (hence showing us his nipple, to see if it ‘has enough skin’ or some strange logic like that) and Alexander ‘analogy King’ Arnold. The pair are touted as the new comedy duo of the show and have a natural banter together off screen too…
Was there any romance on set?
Alex: No there wasn’t actually. (To Will) I mean, with me and you there wasn’t – luckily.
Will: We’ve woken up in bed together a few times wearing a sailor’s hat…
Alex (through mock gritted teeth): “Don’t say that”
What sort of things did they get you to do in the audition?
Alex (mock serious): Literally – naked… No, they didn’t. Just like, a bit of script. The opening audition was an improv. (Turns to Will) Apparently your one was really funny?
Will: What was?
Alex: Your improv. What I’ve just been talking about …
Will: I wasn’t listening.
Alex: Great.
Who got the raw deal when it came to embarrassing scenes?
Alex (to Will): It was you but it was like, cut quite fine… Well it wasn’t necessarily (with) a kitchen knife, it was probably a machete.
I see in the character synopsis that Alo’s favourite hobbies are listed as ‘weed and wanking?’ Now there’s something to tell your mum…
Will (insisting): He’s much deeper than that.
Alex: Shallow Alo!
Will: He’s just a teenage boy, he likes weed and wanking – who doesn’t?
How would you describe the relationship between Rich and Alo?
Alex: Like a puppy and its owner… I’m definitely the owner.
Will (agreeing): Yeah.
Alex: The thing is with a puppy and an owner, it can sort of switch round, the dog can bite its owner can’t it? I think that’s a good analogy isn’t it? That’s a great analogy. I’m great. Let’s just go with ‘I’m great’.
Two of the most successful people to have come out of Skins are Dev Patel and Nicholas Hoult. If you had to choose anyone from the cast who is destined for Hollywood, who would it be?
Both in unison: Freya Mavor!
Will: Freya is gonna do massive things; she’s so good. She’s so professional and determined.
Alex: She speaks French as well.
Will: She’s really fit as well.
So there you have it. The Skins cast, live in the flesh and coming to an E4 screen near you (Thursday 27th Jan, 10pm to be precise).
All that’s left to find out, is what will they be buying with their first pay cheques? Ever serious in their responses, Alex answers, “probably a packet of wine gums” while Will opts for, “a drum stick”.
That’s teenagers for you – easily pleased.

Wanna hear about Jack?? our Cook from series 3 and 4? Well, here is one interview from this website where he tell us how he is going on.

Recently we caught up with a young man going by the name of Jack O'Connell, the Derby lad currently streaking between the skyline and the silver screen as one of Britain's most promising young actors. Best known for his roles as Cook in Channel 4's 'Skins' and Pukey Nichols in Shane Meadows' 'This Is England', and having won the TV Choice award for Best Actor in 2010 at only 20 years of age, Jack is with us to chat on the subject of work, inspiration and the British Film Industry. But first thing's first, has the award made him think any differently of himself?

J: “Yeah, greatly, dramatically [different]. It’s clarification that I’m doing well at my job so I might as well continue. It’s a TV category though so certain actors are exempt - I wanna go against them all. BAFTAs, I wanna be in the BAFTA league”

And it is that kind of ambitious, positive attitude that makes Jack such an inspiring character to be around. Whether in the warm-hearted, modest haven of a local pub or in the astral surroundings of the metropolitan elite, Jack exudes a typically northern charm and confident positivity to any and all.
So what would satisfy this high-reaching young actor?
J: “I want to document some beautiful Britishness that has occurred. I’d like to character act… I’ve got a role as Bobby Charlton”
Very true, in fact Jack will be starring alongside David Tennant in the BBC’s TV film, ‘United: The Busby Babes and The Munich Air Crash’. Due to hit the screens this year, the film will see Jack take on a new type of role away from the boisterous, aggressive young alpha males we are used to seeing him play; a testament to his ever-growing plane of portrayal prowess. So how does he like to sculpt his characters?

J: “It’s important to be open-minded. For the likes of Cook I’ll use people I know. But for a character role it’s impersonation to a degree… I like to adopt the mannerisms [of the character] and walk around Alvaston - where we’re from”
Big up! This kind of home-loving nature illustrates just how down-to-earth Jack is. Like most of us, he is partial to indulging in the quixotic midnight lights of a major city, but he is just as happy to lie low and relax with family in his cosy hometown. After all, Alvaston is where Jack was born and raised - an unlikely nest from which one of Britain’s most promising young actors would fly. So just how did the acting all come about?

J: “Saint Benedict’s (his old school) specialise in drama. I liked twatting about… more so than [studying]. So that came with its troubles, but by the time I was in drama classes it was being welcomed. So they gave me the application form for the workshop in Nottingham. I’d go there weekly, and after a couple of years I’d get sent to auditions.”
This combination of personality and cosmic convergence has gone hand-in-hand with an enthusiastic dedication toward his craft, kindled by parents who were willing to make their son’s aspirations their own. But these days the enthusiasm is self-maintained, and after working with heavyweights like Shane Meadows and Stephen Graham there surely can’t be any lack of enthusiasm nor education.

J: “Shane [Meadows] gave me a good perspective of the industry. He made me see that he can do exactly what he wants to do. Then the perfect example of that [education] was seeing Stephen Graham playing Combo right there in front of me... I’d see him before takes, he’d be marching about fully as Combo - he’d completely drop himself - and I remember thinking ‘that’s what I want my performances to come across as, that I’m that character and nothing else”
‘This Is England’ was a phenomenal hit when it was released, and the high regard it enjoys must be in part down to the philosophy on which it was made. The legendary French New Wave director, Jean-Luc Godard, once said that film should be “truth 24 times per second”, and there is no greater applicator of this ideology than Shane Meadows. But how is the realistic, gritty feel obtained?

J: “Shane can really bring you into the story because [the subject matter] is that relevant and the performances are so convincing, and he knows his formula on that front. [Also], he’s aware that if he lets it breathe without nailing it to a script; if you get everyone in and let them interpret things themselves you get people working together - then you’re onto a winner.”
What makes Meadows’ portfolio even more impressive is the shoestring budget it’s been made on. At the other end of the spectrum are the producers and filmmakers who spend more time wondering what the audience want than what they themselves want. These types of films - often made on large budgets in the hope that big names and sparkly effects will varnish a weak script and lack of vision - tend to lack heart, and in the worst scenarios overshadow the real spectacles, which end up flickering limply in front of empty seats.
But enough of my ranting, what is Jack’s take on the British film industry right now?

J: “I don’t like where its priorities are. [The attitude seems to be] that the more visual you can get it, the more spectacular it’s going to be… But what you run the risk of is losing the talent. In my experience it’s worked out better when the financial side of it [has allowed] the creative [people] to work out what will make the work sell. [But] I don’t think it [the industry] is in any dire straits: nowadays - and Shane Meadows said this as well - it’s easier than ever to make film.”
Very true, in fact there are films being made on mobile phones these days. So if you’re cinematically inclined, round up a posse of like-minded cronies and get shooting. There’s nothing more fulfilling than creating something from the ground up, and for artists collaboration is the key.
Keep your eyes screenward for Jack's appearances in the aforementioned Busby Babes film later this year, as well as the TV adaptation of Martina Cole's The Runaway. Until then, why not get online (FD2D.com) for the full interview and a cheeky video?
Oh go onnnn.

Found this article in thisislondon where Sean talks about his student life and how it was to leave that behind for now.

"A London schoolboy was plucked from obscurity in the middle of his A-levels to star in the fifth series of hit teen drama Skins.

Sean Teale, 18, will play good-looking but arrogant "alpha-male jock" Nick in the new cast - the third - for the fifth outing of the hit on E4, which returns this Thursday.

But it was only a late switch in focus from sport to drama in his final year at Latymer Upper School, Hammersmith, that secured Sean his TV career, after he decided acting looked more fun.

Sean, from Putney, said: "I thought it was my last chance to really do something so I went for it." By chance, his performance in a school play was spotted by an agent in the audience.

As he was preparing for his A-levels, he began auditions, winning a part alongside Tom Hardy in short film Sergeant Slaughter, My Big Brother.

He then rejected a role that would have wiped out his Easter holiday revision "which kind of felt like I was throwing my life away if I ruined my A-levels".

But the Skins auditions came up, taking place over nine weeks: "Exams were coming and I was thinking, 'Either kill me now, or let me know I haven't got it so I can pay attention to my exams, or let me know and I can rejoice.'"

He was told he had been chosen a week into his
A-levels last summer, the day before his 18th birthday. It left him " absolutely astonished".

Sean, the son of IT consultant Noel and Fini, who is at an advertising design company, got an A in history and Bs in drama and economics.

His character Nick is a rugby captain who dates hot gang leader Mini, and is one of a new group of four boys and four girls at the fictional college in Bristol.

Rugby is one of the sports his agents advised him to renounce for fear of damaging his looks. But he said he had no regrets.

"It's heart-wrenching watching yourself," he said of appearing of television. "But there's nothing more that I enjoy than acting. It doesn't even feel like work."

His mother said the family would have friends over to watch his first appearance - and she would "accept" watching him in some of the show's risqué scenes: "I am going to be so proud seeing him in Skins that I'm sure it will be OK."

The return of the series is being marked with a gig at the Coronet Theatre, Elephant and Castle, on Thursday. Tickets are free from E4.com/skins"

Hey guys, you asked and Sean answered... Here is the little interview that SkinsFansite could do to Sean Teale.  Freya´s next!

"Do you play any actually sports like your character? by Anton

Yeah I loved playing rugby when I was younger, I played it all the way
Through school. I used to swim for my borough at championships and a lot of Football til the end of sixth form.

If you could be friends with one of the characters from series 3 and 4, and be related to a character from series 1 and 2 who would they be and why? by JJMC

Cook. Having Cook as a mate would have it's down sides as you'd get in to loads if trouble but the amount of fun you'd have would completely out weigh that! And for family, it'd have to be Chris. If he was my cousin I'd probably not have many other friends, we'd just go mad the whole time. Plus family reunions would be so much more bearable watching him with all the drugs he'd be on.

Would you date any of your co-stars? most embarrassing/ and/or funniest onset experience so far? by CL3Blue

Ah I couldn't do that we're all too close as friends.. Most embarrassing moment either getting puked on on my first day just because I didn't know any of the crew or anything properly, funniest moment probably when I had to wear a strap on (brand new specially ordered following Chris' flying off to the US for the other show) the concept of being a boy and having to wear one made me struggle to focus on the scene. So many ridiculous things happened that day on set."

Here is one funny article from the Guardian by Rich Pelley

Bye-bye Freddie, Cook, Effy and co. Hello (half of) the new character cycle of series five of Skins. Rich Pelley
feels old.

Hello, half of the new character cycle of series five of Skins. When I watch The Inbetweeners I think, "Yes, sixth-form was basically two years of crippling sexual frustration and 'your mum' jokes." But when I watch Skins I think, "Pah! I don't remember any of this sex, drugs and rock'n'roll happening to me."

Jessica (1) I do.
Alex (2) From the age of nine, mate.
Jessica I was popular. I went to all the parties. You must have been doing something wrong.

Shouldn't they make Skins more like Glee and have you breaking into song every episode?
Jessica Yes. We should break into song to help people to understand what is going on. I understand what's going on in Glee only when they break into song.

You have to be technically 18 to watch Skins on E4.com, but I bet you all aren't. Do you have to wear blindfolds on set so you don't glimpse anything untoward?
Dakota(3) Yes.
Jessica No, they gag us and put us in a cupboard.
Sean(4) It gets quite kinky after hours.
Alex We have to finish filming at eight because that's my bedtime.
Dakota He gets cranky if he doesn't have his pacifier and bottle.

Interestingly (5), I auditioned for the new series of Skins in a hilarious (6) undercover piece for The Guide. But, erm, I didn't get on. Got any idea what I was doing wrong?
Sean What did you say your age was?
Er, 18.
Dakota You can't do that. Apparently they have to look at passports now because last series lots of people lied.
Sean I'm sure your performance was brilliant.

Well, we all had to sit in a circle and "improv" some scenes but I was like, "Where's the script? What am I supposed to say?" So I didn't say anything at all.
Jessica Oooooh. Such an amateur!
Alex You should have really analysed the text before you went in.

Anyway. Let's have a Skins series five checklist. Put your hand up if any of the following happens to you. Anyone get hit by a bus and lose their memory for the entire series, like Tony is series two?
Jessica I get hit by a giraffe and then hit by a donkey.

Anyone get clobbered to death with a baseball bat, like Freddie in series four?
Dakota No, but I'm hoping in the next series I get to do that to Sean.

Anyone get off with a teacher, like Chris and Angie in series one?
Jessica Yeah! In real life? Oh, OK. No.

Anyone get their bum out, like Anwar in series two?
Alex [Proudly] I get my bum out, like Anwar.
Sean All the boys get their bums out. Well, three of us did and Seb (7) had a bum double because it was during a sex scene and he's not 18. If it's just a naked bum, that's fine.

What, a bum double like Kylie?
Sean No. It was because it was during a sex scene and he's not 18. If it's just a naked bum, that's fine.

Thanks, half of the new character cycle of series five of Skins. Has anyone told you that you're all going to get killed off next series anyway? Why bother?
Jessica I thought we had a movie and a spin off and … what the?!

Skins, Thu, 10pm, E4

1 Jessica Sula, plays "The Quiet One" Grace Violet

2 Alex Arnold, plays "Metalhead Know-It-All" Rich Hardbeck

Here is one interview with the US skins cast, where they explain what Skins mean to them.

The teenage cast of the controversial new MTV show talks about the drama on and off the screen, what the show means to them and more!

Here is a big article and a video of The Sun where you can know some details of the love life of Laya.

"SKINS new girl Laya Lewis says playing her promiscuous character helped her to bag a boyfriend for real.

Laya, 18, plays wild child Liv Malone - and acts out the most graphic sex scenes in the show's history.

But she said her numerous romps on the new E4 series gave her the guts to bag a boyfriend after filming ended.

She told TV Biz: "Playing Liv has definitely made me more confident with my body and with guys in real life.

"I have a boyfriend now - but I didn't when we started filming. Playing Liv changed that.

"I ended up much more confident and more myself, so it's definitely had an effect on me.

"I'm so much happier with myself now because Liv's so comfortable with how she looks.

"I started thinking like Liv. It's very overpowering."

Liv joins the gang in the fifth series of the controversial show - and ends up having more sex than everyone else.

Laya admitted she wishes she could be even more like her on-screen alter ego.

She said: "Liv gets loads of sex. She's doesn't care if someone wants to call her a slag.

"She's really comfortable with her body. She'll eat a cheeseburger - and get her baps out!

"Liv is the kind of person I wish I could be like.

"Since I've finished filming there are times when I think 'What would Liv do?' because she's so ballsy."

But Laya won't watch her sex scenes with her mum.

She said: "My mum said, 'I can't wait to see your sex face'.

"I thought I was going to vomit! I'll leave the room for that bit.

"You do get embarrassed doing sex scenes at first but once you stop taking it so seriously it's actually quite enjoyable.

"You want it to look good so you do your best and it's fun."

Skins fans will see Liv get saucy from episode three - but Laya says her boyfriend isn't getting worried about her revealing all on screen.

She added: "He knows about the scenes but I don't think he'll take it seriously."

Mini menace

Scots miss ... Freya Mavor

SCOTS beauty Freya Mavor had a glamorous start on the show - as she filmed with Kelly Brook on her first day.

The blonde, who plays bully Mini McGuinness, spent the day with the actress in a gym as Kelly made a one-off appearance as Mini's fitness instructor.

Freya, 17, said: "I had a day with Kelly Brook - what a lady! Everyone in the gym was gawping at her.

"She was so lovely - really laid back, great fun to talk to and very encouraging on my first day."

Meanwhile, Freya said she was worried about playing ruthless Mini after originally auditioning for the role of Grace.

She added: "I was petrified. I thought everyone's going to hate me because no one likes a bitch. But I learnt to cherish being able to be different on set."

Freaky Franky

Franky boils ... Dakota Richards

DAKOTA Blue Richards admits that she had her reservations about playing strange outsider Franky Fitzgerald.

The actress has been in the industry since she was 11 and appeared with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig in The Golden Compass four years ago.

But instead of landing the part of Liv, which she auditioned for, she was offered the role of androgynous
Franky.

Dakota, 16, said: "I sort of blindly said yes to Franky, although I had no idea what the character was like.

"I didn't expect her to be like that. It was difficult to play her because she doesn't do anything like me or think like me."

Amazing Grace

JESSICA Sula had a real-life brush with the law when she was filming one of her character Grace Violet's action-packed scenes.

The 16-year-old told how she was chased by two burly cops who thought she was genuinely shoplifting in the Cabot Circus shopping centre in Bristol.

Jessica said: "I had to shout 'peg it' because my character was stealing something and halfway through I remember seeing two big police officers.

"I thought, 'Oh, their costumes are great!' But they chased after me and said, 'Hand over what you have'.

"The producer had to come over and explain."

Mysterious Matty

Enigmatic ... Sebastian de Souza

SEBASTIAN de Souza risked riling bosses by admitting he'd never seen the show.

The 17-year-old, who plays enigmatic Matty, says his TV taste couldn't be more different.

He said: "I'm more of a Poirot or Miss Marple guy.

"But that was better for me because it made it fresh."

Naked Nick

SEAN Teale feared getting his kit off as Nick Levan - although he had an even scarier role playing a werewolf in Nickelodeon's Summer in Transylvania.

He still dreads the idea of Skins making him famous.

Sean, 18, said: "The concept of anyone recognising me seems bizarre."

Rocker Rich

Metal head ... Alex Arnold

ALEXANDER Arnold says his parents banned him from watching Skins when he was younger because they thought it was too graphic.

But the actor, who plays music lover Rich Hardbeck, said they were actually fans.

He added: "They're very supportive of me being in the show."

Awkward Alo

WILL Merrick says he didn't get embarrassed about his rude scenes - because they mirror real life.

Will, 17, who plays Alo Creevey, added: "Possibly the main event in a teen's life is finding out about sex."

Sadly for Alo, he's the only one to not get a legover."

Another interview, this time Freya reveals that Skins was a point of start to be rebel!

"Skins star Freya Mavor has revealed the first series of the hit show inspired her to rebel and throw wild parties at a young age.

The teenage actress plays popular girl Mini in the new series of the E4 show, which had a reputation for inspiring young people across the country to hold outrageous parties in their parents' homes.

Freya said she really related to the first series, adding: "I was living in France and I was really badly behaved back then.

"I was leaving the house without my parents knowing, throwing parties and stuff like that when I was really, really young. And it's an inspiration almost, Skins, to act rebelliously as a teenager."

Laya Lewis - who plays sex-mad Liv in the new series starting on January 25 - likes the series because they are teenage actors playing teenagers, which makes it more realistic for young viewers.

She said: "What I think is so shocking about it is 16-year-olds do take drugs and have sex and there's no point covering that up.

"It's very risque but that's what makes it work.

She added: "I think if you were to follow a teenager around with a camera I think you'd find out so much more about them than when they're just with their mates. Even your friends don't know half about you.

"That's what's really interesting about Skins, I think because it is almost documenting a teenager's life, because they all have their own episodes."
