Joel Dommett has revealed that comedians are given the freedom to adapt the script when they guest star in Skins.
The stand-up, who is currently performing with Eric Lampaert at Edinburgh, appeared as DC Sweeney in two of this year's episodes and told DS that he would be "happy" to go back to the show if he is asked in future.
Asked about the large number of comedians who have appeared on Skins, Dommett said: "It's great - it's the same with The Inbetweeners - it's an amazingly successful TV series and there's so many comedians in it.
"I always think that they're much more interesting to watch on screen. They just know how to make a script funnier. You can always tell when an actor's doing something because they look at a script in a different way, I think.
"Skins are always very open with the script and let you do what you want to with it."
Dommett added of his role: "It was great fun. It was lovely to work on. All the kids were great on it and they were all really nice. I expected them all to be a bit spoiled because they're all very famous very young, but they're the nicest teenagers I've ever met in my entire life!
"They were so down to earth. I thought I'd meet them all and they'd all have needles coming out of their arms and be unprepared and horrible and brattish but they were amazing. They were all brilliant and great actors. I really enjoyed it."
