"Shooting begins in Bristol this month on series 6 of the popular E4 teen drama Skins. The series will see the return of the cast from Series 5 - Dakota Blue Richards, Freya Mavor, Jess Sula, Laya Lewis, Sean Teale, Sebastian De Souza, Will Merrick and Alex Arnold along with some new characters including a "street-smart, charming and handsome" new male character.

The new series from Company Pictures will be produced by Toby Welch and Neil Duncan who both have a longstanding relationship with Skins. Welch worked as a runner and as an assistant to Bryan Elsley on series 2, before producing all cross platform content for Skins series 3 and 4 and by series 5 had progressed to the role of Assistant Producer. Duncan script edited Skins series 3 and 4 before taking on the Script executive role for series 5. Co-creator Bryan Elsley returns to executive produce.

The 10 episode series will begin shooting this month to transmit on E4 in January 2012."

We just found out (by a freelance journalist) that in Skins 5 we will see again this building ( cook´s episode, cook´s mum work). We don´t know yet what this will be in skins season 5 but it´s good to see that not everything has been replaced.

So as far as we know, some skins scenes were filmed in the UWE's Bower Ashton campus and in one bar in Bristol, The Prom bar.

Can´t wait to know more!

"It is surely not as hard a slap in the face to Baltimore's sense of media identity as the makers of John Waters' "Hairspray" filming the movie version in Toronto. But now comes official word from the producers of MTV's "Skins" that this American version of the Brit teen hit won't be filmed in Baltimore — nor will it even be set here.


It will be filmed in Toronto instead — and set in a "general eastern seaboard" city, according to Bryan Elsley, the co-creator and executive producer of both the BBC series and its American spinoff, which debuts early next year.


And all of this after MTV told The Baltimore Sun last year that the much-anticipated series would be fictionally located in Baltimore with at least some filming done here.


Beyond the desperately needed production dollars that any filming would have added to the local economy, just being the fictional home for a show that generates this kind of passion among young viewers would have been very nice. We could use a little glam-grit-edgy-sexy-hit-youth imagery in Baltimore these days. But it won't be coming from MTV with this show."

We´ve got some informations of the places where Skins filmed some scenes for the series 5. It seems that someone took some pics , but probably they had to remove them, because there´s no pics in the page we found this and neither in the facebook that they talk about.

"Popular Bristol based Channel 4 Series Skins is currently filming its fifth series – and last week the cast and crew descended on Gloucester rd, filming scenes at Sticky Neon and The Prom Bar.

The series is set in various locations around Bristol, and follows the reckless, hedonistic and generally debauched lives of a group of Bristol teenagers as they run amok all over the city. The makers of the programme say they try to avoid the usual landmarks like the Suspension Bridge, and aim instead for settings with a little more quirky character. Gloucester Rd was therefore a perfect location! The Prom opened up its doors to the cast and crew to have scenes filmed on their beer terrace. Filming took all day, and caused quite a stir on the road. Unfortunately, as the series is still in its production stages, we were unable to publish any photos of the new cast, as their identity is still a secret. However, here are some photos of the cast and crew in action. It’s good to know that our lovely area is getting some of the recognition and publicity it deserves, and that Bristol’s young acting talent has such a high profile platform on which to prove its worth.
