Cheryl Cole - Parachute
Right, Cheryl Cole is everything I loathe. Her new album is an over produced, poor excuse for a pop record. However, and it pains me to say, Parachute off her last album is not entirely unbearable.

 
Lady Gaga - Boys Boys Boys
Lady Gaga is incredible and probably the modern queen of pop. Her album is such a well-written pop record. I took my little sister to see her last year and it was incredible: balls of fire everywhere. This is the song used for the majority of the catwalk scene. Sorry Cheryl , you ain’t got nuttin’ on this one pet! Our resident office Geordie strongly disagrees.

James Yorkston - Would You Have Me Born With Wooden Eyes?
I bloody love this track. James Yorkston is one of the many brilliant artists signed to Domino. He’s from Scotland and makes gorgeous music. This is off the album When The Haar Rolls In. This album is accompanied by lovely artwork and is definitely one you need to physically own as opposed to downloading (tut tut). This track comes in as Mini is on the treadmill and it follows her home (like a James Yorkston shaped stalker).

Eddie Cochran - Nervous Breakdown
Eddie Cochran was around during the Rockabilly era, at the same time as Buddy Holly & Gene Vincent. He was a star then but unfortunately, due to his premature death in 1960 he isn’t held in as high regard as some of the greats. I’m a big fan of this genre and this tune. This is the first track played in the bowling alley.

The Sonics - Night Time is the Right Time
This is a tune by American garage-rock band, The Sonics who hail from Washington DC. Formed in the early to mid 60s, The Sonics make good old school American garage-rock music. This is the second track played in the bowling alley. Perfect for a bowling montage. Definitely one for the rekkid collection.

Roots Manuva - UK Warriors
Roots Manuva is a brilliant example of quality British music. This is the track playing on the stereo when Nick, Mini, Ryder and Liv are playing ”I have never.”

Breakage - Run ‘em out This tune don't feature in the show, but it's my favourite tune featuring Roots and I make sure it gets a run out at every session that goes on at my yard.

 
Diane Cluck - Petite Roses
Diane Cluck is a Folk singer from New York. She makes really pretty music. This track is completely a cappella and is performed beautifully. I’m really fond of this song and glad it’s in the episode. This comes in as Mini is looking in the mirror contemplating loosing her virginity.

 
Skream - Auto Dub
Auto Dub is a track from the dubstep giant that is Skream. He has to be one of the biggest names in the game. He’s got a big remix out at the moment that I really like, this:
Katy b - Lights On (Skream Mix)
It’s massive. Magnetic Man is probably worth a mention at this point as well. This is the Dubstep super group that is made up of Skream, Benga and Artwork. I loved the album and the production value on it is silly good. Auto Dub is sicc; it’s a very minimal, atmospheric dub tune, which is very pleasing on the ears. This track comes in as Mini and Nick are about to have a sexy cuddle before Mini throws up on him.

 
Crystal Fighters - With You
The Crystal Fighters own… period. This isn’t my favourite tune on the album but I defo think it’s a wicked track in its own right; perfect for Mini. I recommend checking out the album these boys released at the back end of 2010. This track comes in as Mini wakes up to see Nick and Liv sleeping suspiciously close to each other, and then it follows her round college (like a big, creepy Crystal Fighters shaped stalker).

Segal - Leave Home
This is a nice little piano piece to get us ready for the New York Dolls. Segal on the ivories, niiiiice.

New York Dolls - Looking For a Kiss
I was so chuffed about getting the super cool 70’s punk rock band New York Dolls in an episode of Skins. This was a tough one. Originally we had Black Chow- Purple Smoke in there, which worked really well but it wasn’t until we placed this on the edit that the scene came alive; this is such a cool scene. The track comes in over the Mini getting dressed montage.

Segal - I Wanna Be Your Facilitator
This is the first track heard in the party scene and once again it’s our man Segal: a massive track.

Segal - Momus, Ultra Frankenstein
This whole club sequence by Segal is incredible.

Akron/Family - Don’t Be Afraid, You’re Already Dead
This is, by a long way, my favourite song in this episode. This experimental band’s music infuses only the finest elements of folk. They are based in Portland, Oregon, a city that just keeps on giving when it comes to music. They are just incredible. There’s an amazing simple quality to this track, which makes it infectious.
This comes in after Mini has had sex with Nick for the first time and plays as we follow her home through the suburbs (again, like a big Akron/Family sized stalker…. or just a nice innocent little tune this time I guess).
